About High Desert Commons

We generally fill our vacancies from a Waiting List.


High Desert Commons is located on Canal Blvd. just off Hwy 97 in Redmond, Oregon.

This 28-unit complex is a NO-SMOKING, low-income housing project financed by Rural Development and Oregon Housing Tax Credit; designated for occupants of all ages who are capable and desires to live independently.

The project contains 17 two-bedroom apartments, which have 828 square feet of living space and 11 three-bedroom apartments, which have 1092-1225 square feet of living space. All units have a full kitchen, dining room, and a living room. Handicap-equipped units have ADA approved showers, lowered light switches and appliances designed for wheelchair users.

High Desert Commons was built to Earth Advantage standards. Low volume water fixtures have been installed in each unit along with energy efficient lighting and heating.

Library & Computer Room - A Library is set up in the Recreation Room. We have a computer for residents use. This computer is for general typing of letters or playing games only. It is not on-line.

Recreation Room - A multi-purpose room is available for meetings, hobby/craft classes, and wellness and exercise programs. Regularly planned activities and social gatherings, guided by the interest of those who reside at High Desert Commons will have full use of this room.

Laundry Services - A laundry room is provided in each unit.

Resident Eligibility Requirements - To be eligible for High Desert Commons you will need to be income qualified and qualify by household size.

Waiting List - To be placed on the waiting list of High Desert Commons, a completed application must be submitted.
