Through creative partnerships and innovative development, the Missoula Housing Authority provides quality housing solutions for low and middle income households in Missoula and the surrounding area.

Missoula voters created the Missoula Housing Authority in 1978. Currently, Montana state law says that Public Housing Authorities shall address the problems of poor building conditions, improper planning, excessive land coverage, and unsafe conditions caused by overcrowding.

To solve these problems, MHA is authorized to purchase property, demolish and rebuild areas of unsafe housing and build new housing projects.
