The Michigan City Housing Authority (MCHA) will re-open the public housing waiting list beginning Monday, November 17, 2014. Applications will be taken at the housing authority on Mondays only from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. You must apply in person. Individuals that are disabled, elderly or have limited English proficiency may contact the housing authority for information on how to apply. Applicants will be considered by local preference first which means that you must be a Michigan City resident. Applicants will be placed on the list by time and date the application is received. Public Housing includes Boulevard Gardens, Lakeland Estates and Scattered Sites.
