The Brooksville Housing Authority Board (BHA) is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Brooksville with approval of City Council, as set forth in F.S. 421.05 (Resolution No. 256 adopted January 29, 1968 and Resolution No. 91-10 increasing number of members). The BHA consists of seven (7) voting members. All reasonable efforts will be made to seek applications from residents* within the housing complex to serve on this Board, striving to appoint two resident members if possible.
The powers of authority of the Board are stipulated in F.S. 421.08, whereby it basically sets policies and guidelines for tenants to abide by, approves the budget for the BHA, signs the Annual Contribution Contract and amendments thereto. The terms of office are for four year terms. [Note: Resolution No. 2003-06 adopted 5/5/03 rescinded provisions for alternate members].
