About Boulder Housing Partners

Founded in 1966, Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) is the housing authority for the City of Boulder. We build, own and manage affordable housing for low and moderate income residents and we are committed to fostering a healthy sense of community in every property we develop.

BHP's goal is to make living in Boulder possible and affordable, regardless of your income. We offer rental programs with rents from a low of $50 per month to rents just below the market. As of 2012, 6.88% of Boulder's housing is permanently affordable. We own and manage 33% of the total inventory of affordable housing in Boulder, making a strong contribution to the City Council's goal that 10% of all housing be permanently affordable. We actively seek opportunities to grow our housing inventory.

BHP provides assistance nearly two thousand households through our five housing programs. Our portfolio consists of:

• 453 deeply-affordable homes supported by the US Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD)
• 857 dwelling units in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Housing First programs
• 432 homes in the Boulder Affordable Rental program, where the housing was created through a mix of local and state grants, low income housing tax credits and/or conventional financing
• 139 homes available at typical market rents.

Mission Statement

Our primary mission is to provide quality, affordable housing, developed and managed with respect for the dignity of all involved. We also seek to create a sense of community strength and spirit that supports resident efforts to realize success in their lives.
