Newberry is a public housing agency that helps provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. NHA is affiliated with; CCHRCO (Carolina's Council of Housing, Redevelopment and Codes Officials); SERC (Southeastern Regional Council); and NAHRO (National Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials)

NHA is a self-governing public agency created by state and local law and operated by a Board of Commissioners appointed locally. NHA employs 15 full time permanent employees and part-time security officers.
