Description:

The Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA) will accept applications from persons interested in participating in its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program only during the Open Enrollment period, which begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2020, and ends at 9 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020.

Applications will be retained until the next open enrollment. All current HCV applications from the previous open enrollment will be terminated effective July 10, 2020 and must re-apply during this Open Enrollment period.

Due to COVID-19, applicants will not be assisted at the Housing office. Applications will only be accepted online. Click here to visit the Arlington Housing Authority website to complete your application.

Applicants that need access to a computer may visit a branch of the Arlington Public Library, but they will have limited availability due to COVID-19. Be sure to check their current hours of operation. Persons needing assistance with completing an application may contact the AHA during the Open Enrollment period at 817-276-6722. About Arlington Housing Authority

The Arlington Housing Authority is governed by a Board of Commissioners appointed by City Council. It is affiliated with the city through an Inter-Local Cooperative Agreement. The AHA administers the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 Rental Assistance Program providing rental housing assistance to low-income tenants in privately owned rental units.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Arlington Housing Authority is to advocate for and pursue affordable housing opportunities for the maximum number of low-income individuals and families in Arlington by:

establishing partnerships with public or private community service providers; maintaining and encouraging additional housing choices;

effectively communicating with internal and external constituencies;

attracting and retaining knowledgeable staff and Board members by supporting professional development and personal opportunities; and

maintaining and improving fiscal accountability and operational efficiency.

AHA will serve the community and create an environment in which all citizens may support and participate in achieving the AHA vision.
