McAlester Housing Authority administer Public Housing where we own houses that we rent to people and we administer Section 8 where we help pay rent to a private landlord. We do accept housing choice vouchers but our funds are extremely limited right now so if you have a voucher in another locality and are wanting to transfer here, the originating agency will have to pay the rents and we would have to administer it. We cannot absorb your voucher at this time. We do have a waiting list for both Section 8 and Public Housing. They vary according to bedroom size.
