About Laconia Housing Authority

Laconia Housing Authority (LHA), formerly Laconia Housing & Redevelopment Authority, was organized by vote of the Laconia City Council on April 26, 1950 and is a joint agreement between the City of Laconia and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Housing Authority's original purpose was to provide housing for those displaced by the massive downtown redevelopment of the late 60's. Since then its mission and work has changed to serve a wider population of the community.

Today, LHA provides housing opportunities for over 700 households/families (over 1,000 people) including:

Blueberry Place
Normandin Square
Northfield Village
Orchard Hill II
Sunrise Towers
Tavern Inn/Stafford House
407 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV - formerly Section 8)

To meet the growing demand for senior services, Laconia Housing Authority implemented several innovative programs including:

Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) - direct support services (meals, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, personal care)
Home & Community Base Care (HCBC) – direct support services with nursing
LHA Home Health Agency - nursing services and personal care
Senior Center in collaboration with Belknap-Merrimack Community Action Program (CAP)

LHA has a dedicated staff providing excellent care and service.
