Palm Beach County Housing Authority was created under Chapter 421 of the Florida Statute, and first opened its doors in June 10th, 1969, to provide affordable housing stock to low-income families through rental assistance programs: Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing. The Agency is formed as a Special District of the State of Florida and presents an integral role in affordable supportive housing initiatives on a countywide platform.
Palm Beach County Housing Authority is and has been responsible for all of the accompanying responsibilities of administration, maintenance, and management of its Section 8 Program, Affordable Housing Apartment Units, and Public Housing.
The mission of the Palm Beach County Housing Authority is to be a leading Palm Beach County housing agency assisting with affordable housing (low-income and moderate-income) needs of families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, as these residents are striving for self-sufficiency and/or independent living.
